Information about the processing and use of your employment application data
This is to inform you about the company's processing of your personal data in relation to your application. We must collect your (personal) data in order to respond to your interest in our positions and to process your application for our job advertisements. For all business correspondence between you and Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Center, your data entered into the system will be stored and processed only by systems within the EU.

Data categories that we process in relation to your application are the ones that you provided. The processed categories of personal data include, but are not limited to, your name, your contact information, your qualification details, your references and your documentation. We can also process personal data in the application process that we have obtained lawfully from publicly accessible sources (such as career networks).
We process your personal data only in relation to the application, in accordance with the legal requirements. Data processing serves the purpose of personnel recruiting. The primary legal basis for this is Art. 6, Section 1 b) GDPR in conjunction with Art. 88 Section 1 GDPR. Your data can also be processed on a regular basis for statistical purposes. This is always done in anonymous form.
As special categories of personal data under Art. 9 Section 1 GDPR, information about a severe disability can be processed during the personnel recruiting process. This is done on the basis of Art. 9 Section 2 b) GDPR.
Recipients of your personal data within our company are the managers of the specialist unit in charge of filling the position, and the responsible colleagues from HR.
Your personal data will also be compared with all job listings from Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Center and can be accessed by the administrative staff of the HR department(s) and responsible specialist unit(s).
Within Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Center, your data can be viewed with your consent by all managers of Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Center when searching for suitable persons to fill a position.
In the event that you are hired, your personal data will be transferred from the application portal to the HR systems for further handling. Your data will also be stored and processed in these systems and further exchanged with different employees at CAC ensuring your contracting, move, onboarding and access to systems and building.
In the registration screen, you will be provided with selection fields to select one of the above groups of recipients. Within Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Center, your data can be viewed with your consent by all responsible colleagues from HR and managers when searching for suitable persons to fill a position.
We also sometimes use various service providers to fulfill our contractual and legal obligations. For example, your personal data will be shared with the following legal entities:
As an applicant, you have the right:
• to request information from the controller about the personal data stored on you and about the information specified in Art. 15 GDPR.
• to have the controller correct any inaccurate personal data relating to you and, if needed, to update incomplete personal information (Art. 16 GDPR). However, you can also alter and edit your profile data by logging on to our application portal and editing the data you have entered.
• to request that the controller delete personal data relating to you, if the data is no longer needed for the application process or any legal obligations. The specific reasons are listed individually in Art. 17 GDPR (right to erasure). If you wish to do so, please withdraw your original consent to the data protection statement on our employment application portal or send an e-mail to dataprotection@mercedes- benz.com. If you request that your data be deleted, Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Center will no longer process your data, and will delete or anonymize it. Accordingly, your employment application process will end immediately once your personal data is deleted or anonymized. Access to the profile that you have set up will no longer be possible.
• to request that the controller restrict processing, if one of the conditions listed in Art. 18 GDPR has been met, i.e. if the data subject has lodged a complaint about processing, for the term of review by the controller.
• to request that the controller issue in a readable, electronic format the data that you have provided electronically yourself (Art. 20 GDPR).
• to file an objection to data processing if there are special reasons in your situation that would conflict with data processing. If there are no mandatory, legitimate interests of the controller for data processing (e.g. to enforce or defend against legal claims), the controller can no longer process your data (Art. 21 GDPR).
• If you are of the opinion that we are in breach of the General Data Protection Regulation or other laws through the processing of personal data relating to you, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Officer or a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).
The company limits the storage of your data to the necessary period. For this reason, we delete or anonymize your personal data on a regular basis as follows:
• The application profile you set up will remain active as long as you are in an application process. After all application processes are complete, your profile will be saved for 28 days. After 28 days, you will be asked by email whether Mercedes- Benz Customer Assistance Center can save your data until one year. If you do not agree with the one year retention period, your data will be anonymized after the 28 days.
• If you are no longer interested in our positions (inactive profile for a period of one months), you withdraw your application(s), or the application process ends and you are not hired, Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Center will block access to your profile and your personal data and anonymize your personal data according to the legal regulations, but no later than one year after the end of the application process. This does not apply in the case of mandatory legal retention periods or if the personal data is needed for purposes of evidence.
You agree that your application information can be used by managers and HR, for hiring processes; at the same time, upon submission of your application, you warrant that the information you provided is true. You are aware that providing false information can result in termination of any employment relationship.
